All these points make sense...except the glass trophy is a differentiator that goes along with all the other differentiating aspects of CW Open. I guarantee if I won the glass, it would be on my radio desk. I have no plaques on my wall – they’re all in a box in my closet. Vive la difference.

I have a coveted spot on my left-side P3 just waiting for my CW Open trophy .

Yes, a plaque is much easier to display.  I have a bunch of bowling trophies (and a few ham radio ones) which are buried in a display nook in our living room which is difficult to see.  My plaques are on the wall in my shack for me to enjoy (and my visitors, too).

Another practical reason to stay with Plaques:  Much easier to mail out to folks.

Use the flat fee boxes at the Post Office with a little bubble wrap.  Works great.

Trophies are fragile and much harder to wrap and pack.  More expensive to mail.

Plaques can be hung on the wall.  Trophies get dusty in the closet.
