No, I had two different inverters (PV 150 Tripp Lite and Intelligent 300w), 
and they were both too noisy (S9+ broadband spikes) to be of any use.  I 
ended up using a 70w. DC/DC converter made for laptops.  It was ok on 40 and 
20, but had S6 hash on 15 and 10.  We ended up unplugging it when we went to 
15 and 10.  Laptop battery was good for 1.5 hours, so that got us by.  

Ran the laptop, Timewave dsp and swr meter lamp from two deep cycle marine 
batteries strapped together on front floor of the car.  After 10 hours of 
operation, the voltage only dropped from 12.9 vdc to 12.4 vdc. Plugged in 
charger overnight at the motel on Saturday night.   Worked like a champ.

I will return the inverters for my $ back....geo
