Thanks to all for the discussions and I think a vote is the proper way to make this decision.
 
While there was no specific statement, I believe the group culled 20 SEP.  
 
Therefore, the score, before confirmation:
 
6 SEP 2014:  Rob, Alan, John, Jim
23 AUG 2014:  Hank, Pete, Dean
 
with 4-hr sessions beginning at the same time as 2013 (0000z, 1200z, 2000z).  
 
Chuck, I do not think I have your vote.  Please let me know your choice today and thanks.
 
If the 20 SEP cull or the score above is not correct, please let me know today.

In light of Jim's, John's and Al's reasoned replies, I would like to change my vote (again) to Sep 6, also. I don't believe we're really at risk for other than the latter hours of session 3 - a risk I'm obviously willing to take.

So, if I'm keeping proper track, we have 4 votes now for Sep 6 (Jim, John, Al and Rob). But, remember, I've empowered Dean to make the final decision. So, despite our protestations, he may decide to go with Aug 23. And, if he does, he's entitled.
