Here's what we're banging up against if we do the Aug 30 date:
YO DX HF Contest
1200Z, Aug 30 to 1200Z, Aug 31
+
SCC RTTY Championship
1200Z, Aug 30 to 1159Z, Aug 31
+
SARL HF CW Contest
1400Z-1600Z, Aug 31
Here's what we hit on Sep 6:
All Asian DX Contest, Phone
0000Z, Sep 6 to 2400Z, Sep 7
+ Wake-Up! QRP Sprint
0600Z-0800Z, Sep 6
+ AGCW Straight Key
Party
1300Z-1600Z, Sep 6
+ North American Sprint,
CW
0000Z-0400Z, Sep 7
It's a six of one/half dozen of the other. There's the YO DX contest on
Aug 30 and NA Sprint begins when our 3rd session ends. My guess is that we
will lose a few NA ops to NA Sprint because they won't want to do 8 hours
straight. I don't know what our risks are taking on YO DX.
Maybe we should look for another split weekend around August/Sept/Oct?

Good question Hank. I think we decided on the first (partial) weekend
in Sept. Be it Sat Aug 31 (zulu) like this year or first Sept Saturday
(zulu). Need to look at the 2014 contest calendar and see if that's a
problem or not. I haven't done that. Might be we were just lucky this year
with the split weekend.

Picking a day that didn't have some other "big" event
happening was probably the biggest help. We were burned by unknowingly
competing with RDA the first year, and Keyman last year. That really hurt.
Really tough to find a "free" weekend, but this new date looks
like a winner.
What is the "new date?"
Is it last zulu Friday in August? Or zulu Friday of first (partial)
weekend in September? Or ... ?
