[Cwo] We got a WriteLog commitment from K0PC!!!

I agree with Rob.

I'll check back with N4ZR after Dayton. I know the N1MM team will be there
so if either of you see Pete you can talk with him. I'm presuming after
Dayton they will get it on the schedule. It's not a big deal - really a
modification of the base CWT module.

I asked if we could get something to test in June. That will give us more
than enough time to both test the module and test the output. In advance of
that, may I suggest that Alan develop a simple test plan so we can be sure
to test all the different scenarios we might encounter?

Have fun in Dayton. I'll be haying, mowing my lawn. So far this week we've
had more than 3 inches of rain.

Alan,

I think before we declare a log module ready for prime time, we need to try
it out. So...we can add the info that GenLog and SD modules are up and
running but will be tested; and N1MM and WriteLog are in process, or
something like that. I'm glad I asked Pat. His NCCC Sprint module works
really well, so I'm sure his work on CWO will be fine. I'm going to sleep a
lot better tonight :-).

I'll keep you posted on what kind of feedback we get in Dayton, and what the
N1MM folks tell us as to time frame. And, I agree about not pressuring Pat
for a deadline. If he gets something to us in June, we're fat city.

At this point, I would not worry too much about the adjudication software.
I'm going to see N5RR in Dayton, and he's the one who developed CWops Award
Manager (CAM). I suspect he's a good programmer and may be able to help us
with the adjudication software, but that will definitely not be a show
stopper; the logging programs were a show stopper. So, it's on with the
show.

Me too! Great idea Rob.
He didn't say "when", but right now I'm just happy he said he would do it.
Let's give him a month and ping again if nothing heard. In the mean time, we
can go ahead and tell folks that both Writelog and N1MM are working on it,
and will support it.

We should add this to our web page under FAQ:

Software support is provided by:
   - GenLog is up and running with CWO:
http://mysite.verizon.net/dmascaro1/
   - SD by EI5DI is up and running with CWO: http://www.ei5di.com/
   - N1MM (CWO addition is being worked on now and will be released soon)
   - Writelog (CWO module is being worked on now and will be released
soon)

This might put some pressure on N1MM and WL to get with the program.

Maybe I should check out SD and GenLog to see if they really work or not.
They just told me it's ready. Promises, promises ...

Pat Cain, K0PC, has committed to developing the CW OPEN module for WriteLog.
As soon as it's ready, we will hammer on it to make sure it is darn near
perfect. With N4ZR sounding positive about N1MM, I am breathing a huge sigh
of relief, here. Now, I can focus on creating my email-blast list of contest
clubs.

We should feel secure enough to say, conditionally, that CW OPEN will be
supported on both WriteLog and N1MM should we be asked at Dayton.
