Just sent the following news items to the ARDF-R2 announcement list. If you are not on this list and would like to get announcements and news related to ARDF in IARU Region 2, you can subscribe here:

http://mail.ardf-r2.org/mailman/listinfo/ardf-r2_ardf-r2.org <http://mail.ardf-r2.org/mailman/listinfo/ardf-r2_ardf-r2.org>

ARDF-R2 is not a discussion list - it’s a one-way announcement list and includes IARU representation across the Region. For discussion on ARDF topics, I still recommend we use this list. Also, I’ve made some improvements to the IARU Region 2 ARDF web site (https://www.ardf-r2.org/ <https://www.ardf-r2.org/>). I’m investigating a transition to Wordpress, which, among other things, would make it easier for me to include a calendar of events we can keep up-to-date and a better way to manage news items.

As far as the rule changes just published, I don’t think any of them are especially controversial. They do remove the option to use paper punches and standardize timing on SportIDENT classic punching system (not the AIR+ system) which is consistent with recent USA and IARU R2 championships events. The rule changes do not address GPS or satellite tracking in any way - potential revisions to those rules are still working their way through an ad-hoc committee prior to consideration by the full Region 1 Working Group.
