Ken,
Without hesitation I would skip the Altai units and go with the VK3YNG
sniffer
http://www.users.bigpond.net.au/vk3yng/foxhunt/2m_sniffer/manual.htm I
have used this unit and for the serious hunter it is the only way to go.
I do not have a link but I am told that they also have an antenna in
kit form if you do not want to build one from scratch.

I'm not super-happy with my current two meter ARDF gear (HT +
home-built
offset attenuator + home-built tape measure yagi.) It works, but I
think
I'd like something different.
Does anyone know of where I could buy a couple of Altai-145s? Or
how much they would cost? I know there are some limitations to the
Altai-145, but I've been very happy with the Altai 3.5 for eighty
meters.
What about the two meter Ukrainian sets that I saw two or three of
at the 2002 USA ARDF Champs in Georgia?
Finally, does anyone know of a Mizuho dealer on the web that
would
ship to the U.S.?
