Subject: [WVARC] DVD Player Removed from Casket
All,
About a year ago, Dave Bell, W6AQ, came down to our area. He is working on
a new video and used our local radio club to film a segment on kit-building.
I was, unfortunately, unable to attend the filming and therefore missed
seeing Dave.
I did, however, email him afterwards and introduced myself and mentioned
that I was one of the "kids" in The Ham's Wide World. Dave responded with a
very nice note in which he mentioned that he had just finished production on
the "Ham Radio Film Collection".
Also, a few weeks later, a copy showed up in my mailbox.
I am now the proud owner of a copy of this fine DVD. I'm not sure if it's
out publicly yet, but it contains "The Ham's Wide World" and "This Is Ham
Radio", the two films with the WVARC, and four others he produced over the
years.
All I can say is, "Wow, this stuff is dated!" I showed it at our local
club's Christmas Party Saturday and the overwhelming interest was not in any
of us, but rather the great shots of the old rigs. Oh well!
