[WVARC] Checking In

This is Jon Forrest (WB6EDM (and WN6TYK)).
I was in WVARC for a bunch of years.
These days I don't do much in ham radio
even though I live in a place that would be
a DXer's dream (on top of the Berkeley
Hills) mainly due to being a member
of the bourgois pig power structure
and not having time.

I work at UC Berkeley where Matt
Futterman also works. He and I have
lunch together every couple of months
and talk about the good old days.

>From what I can see kids these days
just aren't into ham radio like we were.
In a way I can understand why. They
have the Internet and we didn't. Still,
I remember fondly when you could tune
across 40m and always find a bunch of
teenagers harassing the old farts. Those
days are gone, which I guess is good since
now we're the old farts.
