The CDFA has implemented a statewide quarantine order for Part B of the <br>
2-part Weed Slayer system, Agro Gold WS, sold as an organic herbicide, <br>
as it has been found to contain synthetic herbicides, Diquat and <br>
Glyphosate. This is in violation of State and National organic <br>
certification programs. See the attached regulatory notice from the CDFA <br>
for details. This is disappointing to say the least, as early last year <br>
we held a meeting with the area distributor for Weed Slayer and a number <br>
of our members have been using it as what we found to be an effective <br>
alternative to glyphosate, or so we thought.<br>
<br>
Weed Slayer cannot currently be sold in the State of California, and it <br>
is a violation to distribute or move any quarantined product without <br>
obtaining prior approval from the CDFA. Apparently an investigation is <br>
underway.<br>
