*Research Results on Dry Farmed Vineyards Webinar*

*Date/Time:* June 2, 2026  | 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm

Co-hosted by CSWA and Community Alliance with Family Farmers.

Join this webinar to learn about the research results from three
projects on dry farming winegrapes in California, including:

  * A study led by Napa Resource Conservation District that investigated
how soil properties and management practices affect water storage
and overall soil function in dry farmed vineyards across Napa,
Sonoma, and Mendocino Counties. Using field soil pits and laboratory
analysis, the study helped to better understand how soils support
vine health and resilience in dry farmed vineyards.
  * Researchers from UC Berkeley examined the long-term impacts of dry
farming compared to irrigated vineyards and explored soil organic
carbon storage while also looking at vine water status,
evapotranspiration and grower decision-making through field
    measurements and interviews.
  * ERA Economics developed regional cost-of-production budgets and
conducted economic analyses to assess the financial implications and
benefits of dry farming, helping growers better understand both the
environmental and economic tradeoffs of this practice.

*Moderator: *
Lauren Pesch, Partner, Chavez & Leeds Family Vineyards & Leeds & Pesch
Vineyard Consulting

*Speakers: *

  * Miguel Garcia, PhD, Sustainable Ag Program Manager, Napa Resource
    Conservation District
  * Michael McCullough, PhD, Senior Economist, ERA Economics &
    Professor, CalPoly Agribusiness Department
  * Yvonne Socolar, PhD, Project Scientist, UC Berkeley

*SUPPLY CHAIN EMISSIONS WEBINAR*

*Reducing Supply Chain GHG Emissions Webinar *

*Date/Time:* May 27, 2026  | 10 am - 11 am

Hear from California wineries and an industry expert on strategies for
evaluating and sourcing sustainable products and services and engaging
your supply chain to reduce your operation’s carbon footprint. With an
estimated 50-80% of a wine’s carbon footprint coming from the supply
chain, learning to collaborate with suppliers to improve sustainability
practices in products and transportation can drive climate action and
create a ripple effect that extends far beyond your organization
promoting broader environmental and social responsibility across the
entire industry.

*Speakers:*

  * Gita Mallya, Viticulturist and Sustainability Lead, Domaine Carneros
  * Kristin Belair, Director of Winegrowing and Sustainability, Honig
    Vineyard & Winery
  * Olga Kachook, Director, Sustainable Packaging Coalition

*MAXIMUM RESIDUE LIMIT (MRL) WEBINAR*

*MRL Changes in the Global Marketplace: Why They Matter & How to Track Them*

*Date/Time:* June 17, 2026 |   2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Co-hosted by the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance, California
Association of Winegrape Growers and Wine Institute.

Regulatory uncertainty surrounding changing international Maximum
Residue Limits (MRLs) for crop protection materials is a significant
challenge for U.S. agriculture. This is especially true for wine, since
wineries that export may not know where the final wine will be sold and
wine's long shelf-life is often not considered in the regulatory
environment. Join this webinar to learn about MRL changes, their impacts
on trade in export markets, how international MRL changes affect
domestic winegrowers, and tools and tactics for tracking and responding
to MRL changes.

*Moderator: *
Lisa Francioni, Deputy Director, California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance

*Panelists:*

  * Caroline Stringer, Trade Director, California Fresh Fruit Association
  * Jamie Ferman, Senior Director, International Public Policy, Wine
    Institute
  * Alinne Oliveira, Director, Global Access, Bryant Christie Inc.
