VASCM: Seeking Vineyard Management in Exchange for Grapes

Hi,
I'm Brooke of The Blue House and Blue House Vineyard. I have a 2/3 acre
Merlot vineyard in Scotts Valley near the Glenwood Preserve and am looking
for someone who would like to take over the management this year and enjoy
the bounty in return. The vines are Duckhorn stock and approximately 30
years old. They are south facing and deeply rooted and have been dry farmed
for about the last 20 years. This year there are 25,000 gallons of water
available from a rainwater catchment system. The wine was made by Armitage
Wines from 2014-2023 and sold under both the Armitage and Aptos Vineyard
labels. The 2024 and 2025 are now in the expert hands of Madson Wines.
Samples of many past vintages are available. The vineyard has been lovingly
and expertly maintained over the last 14 years with organic management
protocols, with zero mildew on the 2025 crop and a yield of 2.25 tons. It
received its first spray of Stylet Oil, Serenade ASO, and Biomin 126 this
week on 3/24.

You would manage the vineyard as your own - spray regime (organically
approved only), weed whacking, canopy management. You then own the crop. I
would provide wasp management (changing bait stations on-schedule for 8 or
more traps as needed) and will turn on the irrigation as requested. I also
offer to conduct the harvest in exchange for 10 cases of wine - harvest day
is my favorite day on the farm and I have a seasoned crew trained over the
last 14 years who picks the cleanest bins you'll find.
