Hello, everyone:

We have been working with the Californina Sustainable Winegrowing 
Alliance (CSWA) to bring you this program on Climate Action, a joint 
program with the SCMWA. Speakers and topics include:

- *Climate Change Impacts and Actionable Strategies for Adaptation and 
Mitigation*, /Lisa Francioni, Deputy Director, CSWA/ - includes a 
Climate Action Toolkit to help prioritize resilient vineyard practices

- *Mitigating and Adapting to Climate Change Through Soil Health, */Dana 
Revallo, Agrology - /The importance of building soil microbial function 
as a tool for mitigating and adapting to climate change, including 
findings from a pilot project with Redwood Empire Vineyard Management 
and Sonoma County Winegrowers.

/- *Using Dry Farming Techniques for Climate Resilience*, /Lauren Pesch, 
Consultant and CSWA Dry Farm Project Manager/ - Even if you are not dry 
farming there are techniques used in dry-farmed vineyards that can be 
implemented in irrigated vineyards to help reduce water demand.

*- Climate Action at Ridge Vineyards*, /David Gates, Sr. VP of Vineyard 
Operations/ - David will speak to the climate smart practices at Ridge, 
both in the vineyard and winery, including soil health, water security, 
energy efficiency, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and moving towards 
carbon neutrality, and more. Ridge is the largest grower of certified 
organic winegrapes both in Sonoma County and in the Santa Cruz Mts. and 
is a member of International Wineries for Climate Action.
