**Water Catchment System*



Hello, everyone:

Tomorrow, Tuesday the 29th, is our tailgate at Redwood Grade Vineyard on 
Mount Madonna in Watsonville. Richard Hanke will demonstrate:

- Powdery mildew traps from Root Applied Sciences, that have helped 
inform Richard's spray schedule. /More about their pathogen monitoring 
here <https://rootappliedsciences.com/>. /

- An Antonio Carraro articulated center tractor, beneficial on hilly terrain

- And along with Gary Peixoto, Pajaro Valley Irrigation, a water 
catchment system used for irrigation

As well, Rich Casale from the NRCS will address water harvesting 
practices and EQIP cost incentives/rebates.


Please bring a bottle of wine to share.


The 2025 vintage is coming right along and looking stellar with this 
beautiful weather! We look forward to seeing you.

*From Santa Cruz*:
It will take about half an hour to drive from Aptos.
There are various ways to go, here's one:
- Take the Larkin Valley Rd. exit off of Hwy. 1
- Left on White Rd.
- Right on Freedom Blvd.
- Left on Corralitos Rd.
- Right on Pioneer Rd.
- Left on Casserly Rd.
- Left on  Mt. Madonna Rd. and wind your way about 3 miles to the vineyard
- *Watch for the Left Bend Winery sign*.  If you use GPS be sure to turn 
at the white mailbox and sign. If you pass it it will be about another 
mile before you can turn around.

You can also take the Airport Blvd. exit to Green Valley Rd. to Casserly 
to Mt. Madonna

*From San Jose*:
1020 Mount Madonna Road, Watsonville.
About 1 hour drive from Los Gatos
- Take 101 south towards Morgan Hill
- Exit at Tennant Ave
- Turn Right
- Turn Left on Butterfield, it will turn into Watsonville Road
- Pass the Vineyards of Clos Lachance and Dorcich.
- Turn right on 152 and go pass Hecker Pass Winery (do not take Redwood 
Retreat Road - some apps will send you that way. It becomes a one lane 
gravel road )
- Look for the signs for Mount Madonna County Park. Turn Right on Pole 
Line Road. You do not have to stop at park ranger station. You will be 
just driving through the park.
- Turn Left at the stop sign, Mount Madonna Road.
- Go 3/4 of a mile, turn Left at the first driveway at the white 
mailbox. Look for the Left Bend Winery sign.
