Hi, everyone:
And adding to this announcement for the CropManage Workshop: this was
addressed at the UCCE Wine Grape Seminar yesterday in Salinas. It is a
FREE tool for use by winegrape growers that gives you "real-time
recommendations for efficient and timely irrigation and fertilization
applications while maintaining or improving overall yield." You'll also
learn the peak demand of winegrapes for nutrients during the growing
season and when best to apply them; sources of eg. N and how to
determine if you need to replace it and how much, etc. Crop Manage has
been field tested over the past 8 years and has 3500 registered users.
They are looking for beta testers in vineyards for this growing season.
Michael Cahn, UCCE's irrigation specialist, is spearheading this, so if
you're unable to attend the free workshop on the 29th you can contact
him at mdcahn at ucanr.edu <mailto:mdcahn at ucanr.edu>| 831-214-3690 . There
is also a CropManage hotline at 831-759-7377.
Thanks much,
Mary Lindsay
