Hello, everyone:

I'd like to invite your input for our upcoming Zoom meeting with Fritz Westover on the 23rd, and also for scheduling a meeting with Rich Casale and the NRCS on Vineyard Storm Damage Repair & Erosion Prevention (date TBD but aiming for mid-Feb.). Given the constant deluge over the past few weeks I think many of us are interested to hear what others are experiencing. So I'd like to invite some information sharing (and if you prefer you can reply to me privately):

- What have been your rainfall totals? For the rainy season so far (first significant rain was in Sept.)? For the month of Dec.? Since the beginning of this year? At Muns Vineyard up on the Loma Prieta ridge we've had 42.6" for the season, 13.5" since Jan. 1, and 22"+ in December.

- Have you experienced any storm damage? Erosion? Flooding? Damage to structures? If you have, would you be interested and willing to have a meeting at your property with Rich Casale as the speaker (which would give you his expert consultation, too)? Funding is available through the NRCS to help defray repair expenses.

- What are your biggest concerns presently for your vineyard? Fritz Westover can address your issues during his webinar on the 23rd. Fritz will address a range of issues on preparing for the 2023 vintage, including:
- The effect of saturated soils on nutrients and uptake; vine nutrition
- Canopy management - impact of high rainfall, etc., pruning
- Preparing for heat waves
And is there anything else you would like to hear him address?

Thanks much. And stay dry and safe.

Regards,
Mary Lindsay
