Chris Bowland manages over 400 acres of Estate and a number of grower 
vineyards in the Russian River and Bennett Valley AVA's for Williams 
Selyem.  We are fortunate to have him come and talk to us on 
pre-veraison issues and practices, including bunch closure, pre-veraison 
spray programs (focus on organic), as well as preparing for heat events.

*About Chris Bowland:*Chris manages about 400 acres of Estate vineyards 
for Williams Selyem as well as many of the winery’s grower’s vineyards. 
Chris planted the first vineyard blocks at Willoiams Selyem’s Litton 
Estate in 2002 and has been instrumental in continuing the winery’s 
brand and reputation for Pinot Noir excellence. Chris’ strength in the 
vineyards comes from an extensive background in farming and agriculture, 
and an ability to draw from both as vineyard situations demand. Chris is 
a legendary fisherman in his limited free time, enjoying casts off the
