VASCM: Cabrillo College Classes in Tasting Room Management and Sparkling Wines Start Jan. 28

Cabrillo College's Wine Program, run by Sue Slater, starts up again in a 
couple of weeks with two classes designed for everyone in the local wine 
industry that you can enjoy and benefit from. These classes are under 
the Culinary Arts & Hospitality Management program at Cabrillo College 
in Aptos and are open to all:


CAHM 135 - *Basic Wine Tasting Room Management*. Mondays 6-8pm starting 
Jan. 28 through May 20.What does it take to open, manage and have a 
profitable tasting room.Provides tasting room staff training on 
inventory management, sales, staff member duties and customer 
interaction. Must be 21 or older.

CAHM 140 - *Explore Champagne and French sparkling wines*. Thursdays 
6-8pm starting Jan. 31 through May 23.Presents a detailed examination of 
champagne and French sparkling wine through lectures and tastings, 
including grape varietals, viniculture, wine laws, and sensory 
evaluation. Must be at least 21 years old. Material fee: $80. Must be 21 
or older.
