VASCM: Leaf Thinning on Pinot noir

We are having our first harvest of Pinot noir this year and are at the time that we should be doing some leaf thinning. Please send me your opinion on how to leaf thin this varietal; the vines are planted 7’ apart in N-S rows on a south facing slope and get full sun all day but we are on Summit at 1600’ so often start the day in the cloud.
