VASCM: has anyone out there graduated their macro bins?

There are two horizontal lines on each inside corner of a 16s macro bin,
spaced about 6 and 12 inches down from the rim - these are part of the
mold, but apparently do not mark a particular volume contained below
(although they could). Has anyone on this list ever measured the volume
below each of those hash marks as a rough guide in estimating fluid/must
volume in the bin when used as a fermentor, as they often are? Seems like a
no-brainer. Let me know if you've done so, before I go and waste a few
hundred liters of water.

(The bigger no-brainer of course is for Macro Plastics to mold an
approximate graduation into the interior of their bins... apparently doing
so has never occurred to them, so says the customer service rep)
