The next VASCM meeting is on Shoot Thinning with Ron Mosley, Vinescape

*Ron Mosley will give a presentation on shoot thinning and a 
demonstration in the vineyard at Domaine Eden. With all the water in the 
soil this year we can expect aggressive shoot growth.

Ron planted the vineyard originally in 1983 for Tom Mudd, the founder of 
Cinnabar Winery, and has continued to work this vineyard since and 
currently with Jeffrey Patterson, who acquired the property in 2007. The 
vineyard is planted to Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. 
Ron manages about 80 vineyards in the area, and teaches a series of 
viticulture classes at Foothill College, including vineyard management 
(this summer), installation (starting in September), and pruning. You

wineglass. As usual, please bring a bottle of wine to share.

*Directions to Domaine Eden, 23000 Congress Springs Rd. (Hwy. 9 / Big 
Basin Way), Saratoga*
- From Hwy. 85, take Saratoga Ave. northeast
- From the intersection of Saratoga-Sunnyvale Rd.(where Hwy. 9 
intersects) drive 2.7 miles to 23000 and make a left
- You will drive through the town of Saratogaand now you are on Big 
Basin Way / Hwy. 9, which becomes Congress Springs Rd.
- You will see the 23000 address sign on the right, but you will turn left
- If you get to the Saratoga Springs Campground you have gone too far
- Please drive to the winery, and allow for the long driveway.
