VASCM: Help Support Santa Cruz Co. Wine Industry: Public Meetings This Week re: New Ag Land Use Codes

Greetings friends, fans of the wineries and other concerned citizens.

You can help support the wine industry in this community.

You may be aware that the management of Santa Cruz County is changing 
its attitude.  After 40 years of a no growth and anti business policy, 
the County is broke!!  Since they need a tax base to finance the 
administration and operation of the County, they are changing the 
Agriculture land use codes to allow more Ag related business and to 
allow them to be more accessible to the public. Therefore, business can 
operate at a profit and provide tax to the county. This would be a huge 
improvement for the wine industry in Santa Cruz.

Supervisor John Leopold is holding several public meeting to allow 
voters to comment and/or ask questions.

We urge/request that you attend one of these meetings and show your 
support for the Ag/wine industry. If you cannot attend and would like to 
comment or ask questions, the lead planner for this project is Annie

The Meetings will be this week:

-  Tuesday, 15 Sept. at Simpkins swim center, 979 17th Ave Live Oak, 
7:00 pm to 8:30 .
-  Wednesday, 16 Sept., Loma Prieta School, 23800 Summit Rd, Los Gatos, 
5:30 pm to 6:30
