Posting for a digitally challenged farmer friend here.... Wayne Wiedeman
tells me he's got approximately 3 tons of zin available at his Uvas Valley
vineyard, adjacent to Kirigin and Jason Stephens on Watsonville Road in the
Santa Cruz Mountains above Gilroy (Santa Clara Valley AVA). Very nice fruit
(and makes very nice wine - I'm a repeat customer) from ~20 y/o vines
yielding ~3 tons/acre, conventionally grown at ~350' elevation in gravelly
river wash sediments. When I picked up a bin on Friday, it was
phenologically ripe w/ good flavor, 25 degrees brix, and pH 3.2. He's
asking $1200/ton, picked into your bins. Interested parties can contact
Wayne directly at 408-842-8988.
Cheers,
Nick
