Hello, everyone:

The next meeting of the Viticulture Assn. of the Santa Cruz Mountains
(the first of 2015) is
*
Wednesday, March 4, 2:30pm
*at Clos de la Tech in Woodside (directions below)

*The program: Soil Physical and Chemical Properties for Vineyard Design
and Vine Nutritional Management*
Our guest speaker: Paul Anamosa, Ph.D., Vineyard Soil Technologies in
Napa. Paul will talk about soil types, soil health, soil water retention
- and the relationship to vine health. And, David Goldfarb will talk
about the vineyard practices at Clos de la Tech.

About Paul Anamosa: Paul specializes in soil analysis, land evaluation
for winegrape production, and vine nutritional disorders. He estimates
that he has evaluated over 18,000 soil pits and interpreted the data
from over 30,000 soil and grape leaf tissue samples in his 14 years
working in California viticulture. He is familiar with the Santa Cruz
Mountains and has consulted with vineyards in our region, including Clos
de la Tech. His website is at www.vineyardsoil.com .

As usual, please bring a bottle of wine to share during our social hour
following the presentation.

Also, look forward to a sustainability workshop at Silver Mountain with
the California Sustainable Winegrowing Alliance (CSWA) early in April
(details will be forthcoming).

We look forward to seeing you at this next meeting. And I am sure we are
all celebrating this weekend's rainfall!

Regards,
The VASCM Board:
