VASCM: Next VASCM Meeting This Monday, June 2 at Thomas Fogarty

The next meeting of the Viticulture Assn. of the Santa Cruz Mountains is

at Thomas Fogarty Winery in Woodside (directions below)

Our guest speaker: Tom Shapland, Tule Technologies
And, we will have a vineyard tour and talk with Nathan Kandler about 
what is going on at the Fogarty vineyards, which includes new plantings 
and moving to organic growing.

About Tom Shapland and Tule Technologies: As promised previously, this 
is the 3rd (and last) in a series on vine water use and smart water 
management. Tom will talk about surface renewal evapotranspiration as an 
actual measurement of ET and vine water status.

As usual, please bring a bottle of wine to share during our social hour 
following the presentation.

We look forward to seeing you at this next meeting. In the mean time, 
let's all watch the vines grow over the Memorial Day weekend!

Directions to Thomas Fogarty Winery & Vineyards:

 From Saratoga (allow 30 minutes from Saratoga):
- Take Big Basin Rd. (Hwy. 9) through downtown Saratoga and continue up 
the hill.
- Turn right on Skyline Blvd. (Hwy. 35) at the stop sign at the top.
- Drive 9.2 miles and you'll find the winery on the right.

or, From Hwy. 280:
- Take the Hwy. 84 exit (Woodside Rd.) driving west towards the mountains
- Go through the town of Woodside, and continue up the hill. The road is 
narrow and winding.
- When you reach the top at the intersection of Hwy. 35 (Skyline Blvd.) 
make a sharp left turn onto Hwy. 35 (Skyline)
- Drive 4.5 miles, and the winery is on the left
