VASCM: Pajaro Valley Drought Conference this Thursday, April 10

The Santa Cruz Co. Farm Bureau, Pajaro Valley Water Management Agency 
and Central Coast Agricultural Water Quality Coalition are sponsoring a 
conference this Thursday at the Santa Cruz Co. Fairgrounds on drought 
and irrigation conservation. I am forwarding this for those interested 
to attend.

Please note that the VASCM program we are holding on Friday the 18th at 
Ridge specifically addresses water management issues in our vineyards. 
The program this Thursday is of general agricultural interest. UCCE's 
Michael Cahn, on this Thursday agenda, specializes in row crops. At our 
meeting on the 18th we will have Larry Bettiga, who is the UCCE vineyard 
specialist, talking specifically about vineyard water management. That 
said, there could be other issues on the Pajaro Valley program of 
interest to our growers, including the soil issues. And we are hoping to 
have a soils program in the next few months.
