VASCM: Resistance management strategy

I start the season with Stylet Oil and Kaligreen and then alternate through
4-5 different synthetic classes for the rest of the year. No fungicide
class is used more than twice to minimize resistance build-up. I never
spray the same material successively and try to maximize the spray cycles
between the same material. Perhaps overly conservative, but this is serious
business for the serious grape grower.

As far as I know Stylet Oil doesn't build up a resistance so much as the
issue being that it must be used every 7-10 days and most people aren't that
diligent. The interval for any fungicide depends on the temperature and
attendant disease pressure, so intervals can be slightly varied on this
basis. But, in my experience, you can seldom get away with longer intervals
than the label recommendation ... and, that assumes your spray equipment and
canopy management allows adequate application to all parts of the vine.

Regards,
Ed
