VASCM: Alternatives to netting for birds

20 years of bird netting experience in the SC Mtns...I wish there was
something easier and less expensive, but I think not.  I almost bit on an
ad about these solar powered whirlygigs
which looked like bent-up helicopter blades about 15 feet long which spin
erratically all day long...and even reverse directions, but at 1200 bucks
apiece I was scared they wouldn't work and figured I needed at least 5 or 6
of them for my 3+ acres of grapes. Nets give me the protection I must have
and I sleep well at night...well...most of the time!
