Hi members,
I am planning to plant a small Pinot Noir vineyard next year and have been shopping for vines. I have Chardonnay planted on 110R and they are doing very well. I was planning to use 110R for the Pinot Noir but a nursery in Sonoma indicated that Pinot Noir and 110R are not a good match. Does anyone have experience with Pinot Noir on 110R? And, what rootstock would you recommend for me if not 110R? I am on Summit Road at 1600 feet facing south about a mile west of Burell School. It is a gently sloping, south facing, well drained plot with a mixture of clay, sandy loam and sandstone soil.
I am interested in 110R because water is an issue for me and I want to dry farm as soon as possible.
Thanks for your help.
