Heads up and a couple of things to look forward to from the VASCM:

The Viticulture Assn. is planning a program with the Sustainability 
Alliance on Biodiversity later in February; topics and program details 
to be announced.

Also, we are planning a program with the SCMWA and the Sustainability 
Alliance in April (to coincide with Earth Day) on energy conservation 
issues. Again, details to be announced.


In the mean time, here are a couple of conferences you might find of 
interest:

** January 23-26: EcoFarm Conference at Asilomar Conference Center, Monterey

Get ready for the 33rd Annual EcoFarm Conference, the oldest and largest 
gathering of ecologically sustainable agriculture advocates in the West. 
For 33 years, we have convened to create, maintain, and promote healthy 
and just food/farming systems. The multi-day conference yields myriad 
opportunities for over 1,500 participants to network with colleagues, 
discover the newest ecological agricultural research and techniques, and 
build, both individually and as a community.

Sessions include:
- Organic Weed Management
- the Agricultural Order for water use
- Making the jump to organic viticulture, with presenters from 
Fetzer/Bonterra Vineyards, Frog's Leap Winery, etc.
- Alternative Fuels


** February 12-14: World Ag Expo, Tulare
This is the largest annual agriculture exposition celebrating 45 years 
of innovative agriculture with: 1,600 exhibitors displaying the latest 
in farm equipment, chemicals, communications, and technology. Free 
seminars on a variety of topics important to dairy producers, farmers, 
ranchers and agribusiness professionals. Cost: $12 General Admission
