VASCM: Meetings Update, Status, etc.

Hello, everyone:

By now we are into harvest, the year has flown by, and many are 
wondering about this year's meetings (or lack thereof), the status of 
the organization, etc.

Never fear. We are planning a meeting for November as a post-harvest 
powwow and some historical perspective to boot. And, reserve the date of 
December 14 for our annual holiday party at the Sesnon House at Cabrillo 
College.

Plus, we have a number of meetings being planned to start out next year, 
including:
- a tour of the vineyard at Storr's, including their sustainable 
practices and wildlife corridor (and the new Storrs winery)
- the geology of the Santa Cruz Mountains (with Bill Cotton, geologist) 
and soil science
- irrigation

Plus some other topics and speakers to be confirmed.

This became a difficult year to try and schedule meetings, although we 
tried numerous times. It just seemed that a lot of the things we tried 
and wanted to do did not work out. So we hope you can bear with us 
during what ended up becoming a bit of a hiatus, and we will renew our 
activity right after this harvest.

In light of this 'vacation', if you paid dues for this year they will be 
applied to next year's membership.

So stay tuned for news soon of the November meeting. And have a terrific 
harvest.
