This Wednesday is a tailgate on pruning diseased vines to be held at
Ridge, brought to us by the Central Coast Vineyard Team and free to
VASCM members - details below. Friday is a PCA class for winegrape
growers in Watsonville. Also note that we are planning to have a VASCM
meeting mid-January prior to Unified (if we can put all the pieces
together); right now the date is tentative and further details will be
provided. And, Eco-Farm and Unified in January.
Wednesday, December 17, 9:00-11:00am:
Tailgate session on Pruning for Diseased Vines, with Doug Gubler, UC
Davis Dept. of Plant Pathology
at Ridge Vineyards; sponsored by the Central Coast Vineyard Team
Free for CCVT and VASCM members, $20 for non-members
The presentation will be followed by a demonstration on renovated
eutypa-infected vines.

Unified Wine & Grape Symposium, Sacramento
Aroma Symposium on Friday, 1/30: This will be a day-long analysis of
the origins of wine flavor and the conversion of grape components to
wine aromas, including tastings of wines to demonstrate key findings.
Speakers from several countries will cover the effects of viticultural
practices on flavor, including water deficit and crop loads on wine
qualities, effects of ripening and composition on sensory attributes,
vine microclimate effects on wine flavor and influence of leaf removal
on winegrape quality.
