VASCM: Use This List To Communicate Directly With Other Growers & Winemakers

  We would like to encourage the use of this email list as a valuable 
communications resource between growers, and between growers and 
winemakers.  On this list are growers and wineries throughout the Santa 
Cruz Mountains. The Viticulture Assn. established this list for the 
purpose of buying and selling grapes, and it can be used for broader 
purposes when you want to communicate directly: to ask for suggestions, 
recommendations, referrals for services, best practices, etc.  For 
example, we have had inquiries recently from people looking for someone 
who can graft - we encourage you to use this list to ask questions such 
as this directly of the grower/winery community, and please respond if 
you have answers to inquiries.

This list will continue to operate as a Buy/Sell Exchange for winegrapes 
and vineyard services, equipment, etc.  All these 'classified ad' types 
of messages will continue to be posted to the Buy/Sell Exchange page on 
the VASCM website at http://www.vascm.org so there will be a record of 
these requests, and you can go there at any time to review current 
listings.  

It is not too early to send a Buy/Sell message to this list if you are a 
grower with fruit available or a winery looking for fruit - so that you 
can line up your arrangements and work together during the coming 
growing season.  Please note that we have recently had a couple of 
inquiries from wineries looking for Pinot Noir, and they have been 
logged on the Buy/Sell Exchange page on the website.

We offer this as a service of the Viticulture Association of the Santa 
Cruz Mountains.

A REMINDER ABOUT HOW TO USE THIS LIST:

When you have a message to send to the list:  Address your message to 
VASCM at kkn.net .  Your message will automatically be sent to everyone on 
the list.  Your name will be listed as the Sender, just as it normally 
would.

When you want to reply to a specific sender of a particular message: 
Reply as you would normally by using the "Reply" key. 
When you want to reply to everyone on the list:  Reply to the message by 
using the "Reply All" key.  When you use "Reply All" your message will 
go to everyone on the list.

When you want to send a message to the mailman (the list master):   Send 
a message to mailman-owner at kkn.net .
