All,

Many of you have heard bits and pieces of the plan to activate a number of
1x1 call signs for the 2012 FQP. I've been seeing more reflector traffic as
people make their plans for the contest, and I think it would be beneficial
to explain better what we havein the works so nobody is surprised on April
28.

The FCG has asked fifteen stations to use 1x1 call signs whose suffixes
spell out "Florida QSO Party." those stations are as follows:

K4F
K4L
K4O
K4R
K4I
K4D
K4A

N4Q
N4S
N4O

W4P
W4A
W4R
W4T
W4Y

All 15 of those stations will operate both cw and ssb, and are being hosted
at various single- and multi-op stations around the state. All who are
capable are also using high power in hopes of making the special award for
spelling "Florida QSO Party" available to as many out of state stations as
possible.

If you have made plans to use a different 1x1 call for the FQP,
particularly one with the same prefix as one of the calls above, please
drop me a line so I'll be aware. If you've not reserved your call yet,
please consider getting a different suffix to avoid confusion.

Just to clarify, the award for Working all 15 1x1 calls is for working the
calls on the list above.

The club will prepare special certificates for all stations who work all 15
1x1s, but you must work all 15 of the approved 1x1s to earn a certificate.

Any other questions can go to me direct. I will summarize to the lists in
question again before FQP.

73,
Chris wf3c
