Alan has done a fantastic job and CWO is a great event.  Unfortunately, I cannot step back in but I will help the new manager get up and running.  No deadlines are imminent.  We just need one responsible contester to step up and the 2017 event will be better than ever.
Personalized emails from Mac to each of the Top Ten finishers in the 2016 CWO HP and LP will result in some volunteers and they can be interviewed on the telephone before making a choice of the new CWO manager.  Those emails can describe the job in detail so that the volunteer understands what is required before stepping forward.

 Subject: [Cwo] Need CWO admin

For the last few years, Dean NW2K has been doing all the major work in administrating the CW Open. While I've been doing the log checking and scoring. Last year he had to drop that responsibility in favor of other things, and.I took it on again with some reluctance. While I started as the first admin of CWO (got the ball rolling, so to speak), Rob, K6RB has written the results column based on the final scoring that I did and we're about to send out for the trophies. Normally this happens in Dec, but due to my limited time (and Rob's time), it's been extended way too long.
I cannot continue running CWO. I moved to KH6 almost three years ago and now it looks like I've had the Hawaiian QSO Party dropped in my lap. It needs attention to get it re-vamped and running again. That's in Aug. CWO is Sept. Something has to give. CWO this year has already suffered neglect.
I can still do the log checking function although I'd really like to turn that over to someone else too. New checking software by W6OP seems to work very well and makes the job much easier.
CWO is still several months away so NOW is the time to address this problem and find a new administrator. If this doesn't get resolved, CWO will just drift and I'm not sure what may happen.
73, Alan  AD6E / KH6TU
