From ad6e at arrl.net Sun Apr 24 12:35:58 2016 From: ad6e at arrl.net (Alan Maenchen) Date: Sun, 24 Apr 2016 19:35:58 +0000 Subject: [Cwo] CWO admin reflector list Message-ID: It's been quite a while since anyone used this list server (cwo at kkn.net). It's still active, and I'm still the list admin. I looked at the list recently and discovered quite a few email addresses that I didn't recognize. Somehow they were added over the past few months. I've deleted the truly unknowns. The rest of you are people I at least know. You are getting this email on the assumption that you want to be involved in CWO issues as part of the CWO admin committee. Rob, K6RB recently appointed three "co-managers" and I have added them to this list: IT9MUO (Alf) for Region 1 N1LN (Bruce) for Region 2 JF2IWL (Dai) for Region 3 The main issue at the moment is to find someone to take the lead as the over-all CWO contest administrator. That was me in the first couple of years, and NW2K since then. Dean has done a wonderful job but now wants to focus elsewhere. So we need a replacement. Personally, I think the "co-managers" will focus on publicity as well as act as "pilots" would for a DXpedition. There still needs to be one central focus point who will insure the logs are judged, rules are enforced (/modified), awards get sent out, and results are posted. Please let me know if you can take this on. Your help will be much appreciated. FYI, I'm working with Pete, W6OP to write a fresh log checking process for CWO. We tried to do this a couple of years ago, but it was never finished and I've had to keep using my very old DOS tools. While that gets the job done, it's a time consuming process. Also, please confirm that you want to remain on this list. If I don't hear back from you in the next couple of days, I will assume you want to be removed. 73, Alan AD6E / KH6TU -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
