Of course we have a log for cwopen.

It's on all our T Shirts.

Rob can provide that.

Ray,

It's definitely international in scope. The three events are scheduled for one "good" high band and one "good" low band session in each IARU region.

We have no specific CWO logo (yet). But you can use the CWops logo.

Alan,

Yes, that was I and where I heard about this great contest!

I did check out the page. Unfortunately, we cannot use that Logo as it is property of the ARRL. I have copied Ms Isiah Gates, our Graphic Artist, on this E-Mail. She can fix the a logo that you can use for the CW Open webpage.

I do have a question. As logos are what people identify with, do you have a logo for this contest? Also, is the just a US contest or is it international?

Alan and Ray:

I think we're off to a good start:

Look forward to receiving the additional information.

BTW: Ray -- wasn't that you who peeked into the NCCC meeting last month while I was giving my Dayton overview presentation?

Next time stay awhile. : >)

Yes, this sounds like a good plan to me. Is there any chance to get Icom advertisements to mention CW OPEN at this late date? I'm somewhat aware of publishing deadlines.
Can you send us the art? K6MM is the webmaster for this event. He is very good at the inventive artsy stuff .. for which I'm sadly lacking in talent.
The arrl SS web page is a good starting point. John: what do you think?

Alan,

Thank you for your E-Mail. I was not quite sure how to respond to the E-Mail I received earlier. So, I really appreciate your taking charge here.

With the NAQP RTTY and the ARRL SS they place an ICOM logo on the awards as well as communicate that ICOM is a corporate or co-sponsor of the awards. Additionally, the ARRL references ICOM's sponsorship on the website and rules pages. Can we do something like this as well? In return, we will assist in publicizing the contest via our website, advertisements and various other media.

Ray,

Thanks for this great offer! As contest manager for CWO, I'm happy to accept your offer for this year.
We have not fully thought through the awards yet so if you have suggestions, we are happy to listen. Our concept at this point is to have a nice award for top score in each of the three time periods. Maybe even a real trophy cup? Cost might be in the $70 range for each. Then, for top score in each of the three power levels a basic 9x12 inch wall plaque. That would be six wall plaques total since the one power level (probably high power) will get the trophy cup. I think such a plaque is about $45 each so we're talking about $500 roughly plus shipping. Of course, the winner of the combined score could be someone who did now win an award in any of the individual events. If so, then there could be two additional plaques and one additional trophy for $650 total plus shipping. I'm rounding since I don't really have a solid quote to go on yet. I also don't know about shipping cost so I can't estimate that yet.
Certificates will be self-generating, self-printing so the cost is zero.
If you have ideas based on your experiences, please share.
Time wise, we don't yet know when these awards will be determined and ordered. I am hoping for sometime late in October or November but it could be later if we're overwhelmed with logs to check. For the initial year of this event it's really difficult to estimate that.
Please contact me directly with thoughts, ideas. I can forward and share with the group.
Thanks again,
Alan AD6E

Hi, Ray!

Thank you so much for your interest in sponsoring awards for our upcoming CWops CW Open event. Our Board has approved the concept of accepting your kind offer. I suspect there may be specific terms or aspects of the sponsorship we need to know about. As club Secretary I will facilitate the discussion that we have about this.

So please fill me in on any further details. We may also want to review the specific trophy, plaque and certificate outline you suggest, though in our internal discussions so far there has been no alternative suggested.

Thanks, Ray!

Craig,

While you may not the right person to contact, I recognized the name and callsign, and knew I could trust you to direct me in the right direction.

I saw a presentation for the CW Open, and would like an opportunity to assist in the promotion and marketing of the contest as a Sponsor. Currently we sponsor the ARRL Sweepstakes as well as the NAQP RTTY plaques, would this be of interest to the CW Operators' club?

Awards:
Trophy for 1st place in each time period.
Plaque for 1st place in each power level in each time period
Trophy for over all combined score of all three time periods.
Plaque for 1st place for each power level in the combined score group.
Note: if the same entrant wins multiple awards, they may be combined.
Certificates for achieving more than 100 QSOs in any or all time periods.
