Anyone want to claim some transatlantic ARDF DX?
Did you have a set of 80m beacons out at 1530Z this morning?

Hi Everyone,

I was tuning around and fiddling about (as you do when you are a retired
person) on 40 m this afternoon, when I suddenly heard, very faintly, MOE
in CW! The frequency was 7.157,050.
It did not take long to divide that by 2 and get the frequency of the NTSC
color burst crystal as the answer (more or less). So, I was hearing the
second harmonic of a set of 80m DF transmitters. I could hear MOE (the strongest)
MOI, MOS and MOH. MO5 was inaudible. The transmitters were not audible
on 80m, where the propagation was much less favourable for such puny signals.
I suppose the fact that they were audible at all on 7 MHz does not say a
great deal for their output low pass filters. I don't suppose the transmitters
that I have built are any better.

Now I want to find out where I should send my QSL (as in DR OM MY QSL SURE
etc etc)! Which European Country was having an 80m DF hunt on Saturday 12
March at 1630 MEZ or 1530 UTC?

Any ideas anyone?
