A five-fox 80-meter radio-orienteering course will be included in the Los
Angeles Orienteering Club's meet in Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park on Sunday, May
23, 2004. Marvin Johnston KE6HTS will be host and course-setter.

This will be your only chance to practice on a southern California 5-fox
80-meter course before the training camp just prior to the USA ARDF Championships.
If there's time, you can also go out on the non-radio Score-O courses.
LAOC's excellent full-color topographical map of this venue will be given to all
participants.

You may start at any time between 10 AM to noon, but we suggest that you
arrive at 9:30 so you can get registered early and have time for more than one
course. LAOC will not start anyone out after noon. Participation fee is $5 per
person for LAOC members and $7 for non-members. Groups of two to four persons
can go out on the courses together, in which case the group fee is $7 for
LAOC members and $9 for non-members. Electronic scoring will be used. If you
have an "e-stick," be sure to bring it, and if not, you can rent one for $2.

Bonelli Regional Park is near Raging Waters, Brackett Field, and Puddingstone
Reservoir. From the 57/210 freeways, take the Via Verde exit and go east
through the entrance to the park. There is a $4 per vehicle entry fee on
Sundays. Look for LAOC's signs directing you to the starting point. A map to the
site is at www.homingin.com

Bring your radio-orienteering equipment for 80 meters, if you have it. Only
a very limited amount of equipment will be available for loan. If you have
extra gear for 80 meters, please bring it along to loan out, because there will
be some non-ham LAOC members needing equipment. Make sure that all batteries
are fresh.

Inquiries about this event should be e-mailed to marvin at rain.org

The Bonelli Park 80m hunt is on the day after the 2m event at Tri-City Park
in Placentia, previously announced.
