We are starting earlier than usual to avoid most of the midday heat. It
is expected to be hot with temperatures approaching 100 degrees F in the
afternoon, and we will have water at each control. I was out there on
Sunday, June 6 and the weather was comfortable in the morning, and was
up in the 90’s at noon.

MT Pinos is a wonderful area for orienteering with lots of pine trees
and no poison oak. The altitude ranges from about 7500 to 8500 feet. The
temperature will probably be cool in the morning and warming up to the
70’s during the day.
