Just back from hols and catching up with the email. I put Velcro tape (the
fluffy part) over the ends of the tape measure elements, then the hook part
taped on the short rod at the centre of each element. You can then quickly
fold the tape elements into the boom for more convenient transport, and the
sharp ends are protected.
